Case Study: Workmans Aircon

The Client:

Workmans Aircon provide Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration services based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. A smaller company that provide a complete service from installation to maintenance and decommissioning.

The Project:

The client was looking at re-branding and changing the company name. A new logo was required although he had a static brochure website that he was largely happy with in terms of appearance, but which did not feature in search engine results. The website had been coded in rather dated and inflexible table based layouts with embedded CSS styles.

I began by designing the logo over a number of deign phases until the logo was approved. The logo was created in vector based artwork enabling me to provide a logo pack which included scalable PDFs for print and screen use. This logo was then incorporated within the revised website and business card that I also designed.

The code within the existing website pages was of the rather dated table based type with embedded styles, which made the content less visible to search engines, and increased page load time.

I therefore recoded the site from scratch using up-to-date HTML with external CSS styles, simplifying the code for search engine crawlers, and creating a site that could be modified more easily. Whilst recoding, I also made a number of subtle improvements to the design, as well as creating a new HTML based gallery.

This project involved the following:

  • Logo Design
  • Brochure Type Website
  • Design Refresh
  • Recoding of Site
  • Search Engine Optimisation
  • HTML Based Gallery
  • Business Cards

Since completion the website has performed well for a number of geo-targeted search terms, and minor updates are made to the site from time to time.
